Modality Studio ("we," "our," or "us") operates the modalitystudio.com platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through Firebase Authentication.
Data you create within your workspace, including contacts, events, forms, campaigns, and automations, is stored securely in our database and associated with your workspace.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers directly. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data.
We collect anonymized usage data to improve our services, including page views, feature usage patterns, and performance metrics.
In the Modality mobile app, if you grant permission, we use your device's approximate location to show events happening near you and to sort nearby content. Location is used only while you are actively using the app ("when in use") — we do not track your location in the background. You can decline this permission and continue using the app, and you can change it at any time in your device settings. We never display your location to other users, and we do not broadcast or share your position on any map.
When you connect third-party services (Mailchimp, Brevo, Klaviyo, Stripe, Google Calendar, Spotify, Apple Music), we exchange data with those services as directed by you. Each integration operates under its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary to fulfill the integration's purpose.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure credential storage, and tenant-isolated data architecture. All workspace data is segregated by workspace ID to prevent cross-tenant access.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will delete your workspace data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

The Modality app lets you post photos, videos, comments, and event content. You are responsible for the content you share. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behavior.
With your consent, Modality sends SMS/text messages about events you interact with — confirming or updating an RSVP request, host approval decisions, and event reminders. You opt in by providing your mobile number and checking the SMS consent box when you RSVP to an event; message frequency varies with event activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers collected for SMS are used solely to deliver the event messages described above, and consent is captured separately from any other data use.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
