Portals & Microsites

A Portal is a branded, multi-page website built from content blocks: a home for your links, resources, information, forms, and events. Publish it at a Modality link or connect your own domain.

Creating a portal

Go to Business → Portals and choose New portal. Give it a name; Modality creates a starter home page you can edit right away. Each portal gets a handle and serves publicly at /p/<handle> once published.

Building with blocks

Pages are made of stacked blocks. Add blocks, reorder them by dragging, and edit each one in place. Available blocks:

• Hero — a headline, subheading, background image, and call-to-action.
• Heading and Text — section titles and paragraphs (links auto-detected).
• Links — a tidy list of links (link-in-bio style).
• Resources — downloadable files and documents with type labels.
• Gallery and Image — image grids and single images.
• Video — embed YouTube, Vimeo, or an MP4.
• Call to action — a prompt with a button.
• Events — a live grid or list of your workspace's events.
• Featured event — spotlight one event with a tickets button that links to its checkout.
• Form — link to one of your published forms.
• FAQ — an expandable question-and-answer list.
• Divider — spacing between sections.

Pages & navigation

Add multiple pages (for example Home, Schedule, Speakers, Resources) from the pages rail. Pages appear in the portal's top navigation; you can rename them, reorder them, and hide any page from the nav.

Design

Open Design & domains to set your accent color, font, light or dark mode, and logo. The live preview updates as you edit. Every portal is responsive out of the box.

Publishing

Toggle Publish to take the portal live. Unpublished portals are private and return a not-found page to visitors. Each published page carries its own SEO title, description, and social image.

Access control

Under Design & domains → Who can view this portal, choose one of:

• Anyone with the link — fully public (default).
• Password protected — visitors enter a shared password to view.
• Members only — restrict to People carrying a chosen tag. Visitors enter their email and, if they're a member, receive a magic access link.

Custom domains

On the Business plan you can serve a portal on your own domain (for example hub.yourbrand.com). Add the domain under Design & domains, create the shown CNAME and TXT records with your DNS provider, then click Verify. Modality provisions and auto-renews the TLS certificate; no certificate management on your side.
